• Lochmere has miles of walking trails connecting the neighborhoods which are maintained by the homeowners association and are for residents' use.
  • The Lochmere Swim & Tennis Club has two beautiful locations. At the Lochwood facility, enjoy 2 sparkling pools - the 10-lane Z-shaped pool with diving and water slide area and the 4-lane lap pool with oversized toddler wading pool. Members enjoy the 8 lighted tennis courts, large deck areas, snack bar and recreation room and LSTC office are located here.
  • The Highands location has a beautiful clubhouse available for rental, 4-lane pool with diving area, gated infant pool area, 2 lighted tennis courts, sand volleyball area and tot lot for members to enjoy.
  • Lochmere Swim & Tennis Club has a top-ranked TSA summer swim team for ages 6 to 18. With over 350 team members, the Lochmere Monsters continue to be record holders. Great coaches and parent involvement make the summer swim meets and events memorable!   • The Lochmere Swim & Tennis Club also has an excellent tennis program for all ages and skill levels. Two certified pros and seasoned instructors are on staff. We offer year-round Junior programs, Ladies USTA and Capitol Tennis, Ment's USTA amd Men't Club Doubles, USTA Junior leagues adn Tournament Team, Mixed Doubles Socials and group and private lessons are available to members.   • LSTC social activities include weekend pool grill nights, wine tasting events, youth social activities and holiday events. Membership information is available at www.lochmere.org.
  • The various neighborhoods have dinner clubs, book clubs, block parties, children's events and garden clubs. The Lochmere Homeowners Association decorates the bridges and signs during the holidays and also has social events during the year. A quarterly newsletter updates the neighborhood on the news.
  • A Teen Korps chapter of Kids Korps USA was founded in November of 2004. Youth ages 12-18 can become members each fall and participate in volunteer work in the community. These 80 teens work with over 20 local philanthropies including assisted living facilities, local hospitals, Second Chance Pet Adoptions, Caring Community Foundation, Food Bank of NC, Habitat for Humanity, Meals on Wheels, Make A Wish, Special Olympics, Shepherd's Table Soup Kitchen, Susan G.   • The Lochmere Golf Club is a semi-private course designed by Gene Hamm and established in 1985. Play 18 holes on a beautful course. Carts are available and clothing, equipment, food and drinks are available in the pro shop. See the Club Pro for membership information.
